7 Value Affirmations
Values in Action!
Students in the Values in Action Character Education Program memorize
the following affirmations:
RESPECT – I recognize the importance of being a person who initiates
respect toward others. I will show consideration for the ideas,
feelings, and unique needs of others.
INTEGRITY – I don’t have to cheat to win. I am a person of integrity.
Every day I will do a little better than I did the day before to be
truthful to myself and to others. You can count on me!
POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE – I am not made from my circumstances, I am
revealed by my circumstances. When I have a problem I will work through
my problem and say, “I can take this and a whole lot more.”
INITIATIVE – A lot of people have to be told what to do. I look for
things to do and appropriate ways to behave. If a job needs to be done,
I’ll be the first to volunteer.
PERSEVERANCE – Most people give up too soon. I have learned that making
mistakes and risking my ideas in class contributes to my learning. I
will never give up. Those who stick to it make a difference.
COOPERATION – While each of us walk our own personal journey in life, we
rarely accomplish things by ourselves. We need each other. There are
things we do together we can’t do alone.
COMPASSION – While the forces in the world are pulling people apart, I
will demonstrate understanding, kindness, empathy, and forgiveness
toward others. I care!!
