Anger Management Strategy for Primary Students
One “Anger Buster” you can use to help students work through and beyond their anger is to have them count to 10 using the Assertive 10 Responses while they engage in ripping a strip of paper called the “Rip a Strip”. This is a strategy from our National Seminar “Discipline and the Difficult Child”.
You can teach your students a similar Anger Buster by counting to ten, only the students would rhyme a word with the number such as 1=sun 2=shoe 3=tree 4=door 5= hive 6 =sticks 7 =heaven 8=plate 9=line 10=pen.
It may be a good idea to place these counting rhymes on a chart showing pictures until the class learns each of the rhyming words.
