Respect Cards
Provide students with several 4×6 cards that describe an action that shows respect.
Examples: Each student chooses a card and does what it says for the day.
1-Tell boys they have good ideas when they share good ideas in class.
2-Tell girls they have good ideas when they share good ideas in class.
3-Thank your teacher for teaching you something new.
4-Pick someone in the class that appears to have few friends and let them know you are glad they are in your class.
5-Write a thank you note to the school principal thanking him/her for their leadership of the school or doing a good job.
6-Hang someone’s jacket or coat up other than your own.
7-Sharpen another student’s pencil when you go to sharpen your own.
8-Show you respect our classroom environment by picking up a piece of scrap paper even though you didn’t throw it down.
9-Write a letter to someone in the class that shows respect to others in the class.
10-When the teacher says No! That’s not an option! Say Ok ! with a smiling friendly voice.
11-Let your parents know how much you appreciate all they do for you.
12-Write a poem on the importance of respecting people smaller than you and share it with the class.
13- Create a new idea of how we can respect others at school to be used for our Respect Cards.
