Rules for Crying and Whining
I lay down rules for crying/whining. If there is crying or whining, I tell my kids that they must be sick, hurt, or tired. I feel their forehead and say, you don’t feel sick. I look them over and say, you don’t look hurt. Oh you must be tired…and I pick them up and put them in their bed. They must lay down and rest for 20 minutes (quietly with no questions or requests), I set a timer and they can get up when their time is up.
