Wouldn't It Be Great
Wouldn’t it be great, to always breathe fresh air,
Cigarettes and cigars would be banned most everywhere.
With each inhale and exhale my poor lungs would not be choked,
By the loathsome disgustingness of filthy factory smoke.
Wouldn’t it be great, if everyone could see,
The harm they do by cutting down a plain and simple tree.
The plush green forests serve as mother nature’s home base,
When will people realize that they can’t easily be replaced.
Wouldn’t it be great, if all water was safe to drink,
And no one needed purifiers hooked up to their kitchen sinks.
If swimming and fishing could be done without fear,
In lakes and oceans with water clean and clear.
Wouldn’t it be great, if we all just got along,
If we all just took the time, to see what we’re doing is wrong.
If people could live in harmony, using the hearts they have within,
And not make narrow-minded assumptions based on the color of skin.
The world could be a much better place, this I do not doubt,
If only we would take the initiative and begin to work things out.
