While studying the “winter” unit, I made snowballs with yarn. During circle time when children were getting restless, we put them on two sides with a barrier in between and have them throw snowballs at each other. They love trying to aim at the teacher.
To make snowballs:
Wrap yarn around cardboard block, etc. to desired thickness. Slip off block and tie in the middle. Cut the ends apart.
