Agree or Disagree

Please evaluate each statement as to whether you agree or disagree by rating each on a scale of 1-7 that best represents your feelings! 1-2 means strongly disagree, 3 means disagree, 4-5 means agree, 6-7 means strongly agree.

___ 1. Inviting students to share with other students what they have learned in

their own personal experience has the power to change my perceptions and habits.

___ 2. If our student body invests time toward increasing respectful acts

perceptions will change and growth will occur.

___ 3. The first person to raise their fist or voice is usually the first person

to run out of ideas.

___ 4. If we learn the different ways people solve conflicts we will become more

multi-faceted in our responses to problems we encounter.

___ 5. Character is most frequently developed through adversity, testing and

suffering.

___ 6. Ethical decision making will only improve when school staff , parents, and

students become more intentional about modeling and teaching ethic and moral dilemmas.

___ 7. Sexual harassment will never fully be understood until students develop

their own policy with definitive descriptions, various levels of intimidation

and abuses and clear consequences for violations.

___ 8.There are no moral absolutes. All ethical decision making is based on the

circumstances and the situation.

___ 9.The fact that there are around 1000 interpersonal relationships that occur

daily between teachers and students is one of the best indicators that

teachers and students are respectful.

___ 10. Responsibility & Respect are two of the most important Virtues that need

to be taught and modeled on our campus.

___ 11. In order to fully comprehend the importance of respect, people have to

understand the worst possible outcomes if we don’t respect each other.

___ 12. The way we treat others is proof of how much respect we have for ourself.

___ 13. Any escalation regarding conflicts people have between each other always

deteriorates the relationship. People need time and a calm environment to

work things out.

___ 14. When you are for people you tend to empower them and yourself. When you

demean or weaken people you become weakened.

___ 15. Cheating is merely an ethical shortcut because a person is lazy.

___ 16. Being late to class is the same thing as stealing.

___ 17.How you spend your time and money is clear evidence of your values.

___ 18. The Golden Rule,”Treat others the way you want to be treated”, is

essential to promote strong and healthy relationships.

___ 19. Assumptions are the basis of all misunderstanding and strife.

___ 20. People tend to describe what they don’t have from each other rather than

what they need from each other.

___ 21. Making responsible choices means I relinquish the alternatives .

___ 22. Students are concerned about their friends when they make poor choices

but often don’t know how to assist them.

___ 23. A lot of choices I make are mine alone to make but I must also accept the

consequences of my choices.

___ 24. We deserve what our attitudes produce.

___ 25. There are major life consequences for joining a gang and deciding to leave

a gang.

___ 26. It’s to my advantage to have and maintain a positive relationship with my

teachers , students, and parents.

___ 27. Most unethical decisions are made because of peer pressure and immediate

self gratification.

___ 28. Every major decision I make impacts myself, my family and my school.

___ 29. Sports not only develops character but also reveals character.

___ 30. Excuses, by their very existence, betray us and deaden our awareness of

right and wrong.

___ 31.We tend to judge ourselves by our intentions while others judge us by our

behavior. It’s more important what we do than what we say.

___ 32. Facing truth about ourselves, others, or the situation can be very

disappointing and feel most threatening. It won’t feel good for a time.

___ 33. Your Feelings can lie to you. We must master our moods.

___ 34. Some behaviors are more desirable than others. The results of all behavior

are not equally desirable and thus are not equally deserving of my respect.

___ 35. It’s not who’s right when it comes to solving conflicts, it’s what’s right.

___ 36. Conscience is our capacity to judge ourselves in moral terms and to

conform to those standards and values.

___ 37.If you do not have beliefs and convictions you negate everything that’s

presented to you.

___ 38. In order to receive respect you have to give it.

___ 39. Morals matter and character counts.
