Anger Management for Teachers
We all had a great laugh in Florida when we were sharing strategies on how teachers handle their anger. Betty said she starts by breathing loudly… when the children start noticing her, she starts slowing down, quieting her breaths, saying “in with the bad and out with the good, out with the bad”, finally saying… “I am feeling better, I’m calm. I can talk now.” etc. Audrey Meurlot shared she says this in a dramatic way: “This cannot be my class. Where did my class go? I’m going to close my eyes and hope that my class will come back!”
