More on Heart Training
Gene Bedley mentions in his seminar the importance of training children in appropriate ways to express strong feelings. A lot of children never see the correlation or implications of harsh and triggered words. You can make a heart out of wood. Each time a child hurts your heart invite them to drive a nail into the heart. When they show remorse or apologize for the angry statement they can pull the nail out. This also helps the child see that anger leaves lasting damage from the holes made in the wooden heart.
