Anger's Best Responses

in Elementary Schools, Middle Schools / by Gene Bedley
March 5, 2013

Teach children to respond to the things that get them angry by using humorous statements. Once kids get the hang of it you can invite them to make up some of their own. Humor tickles the tensions out of situations.

I’m so mad I could bend some bees’ knees!

I’m so angry I could rip a belly button out of a naval orange.

I’m so ticked I could eat turkey sandwiches for 100 years.

I’m so angry I could fill 15 shopping baskets full of Twinkies.

I could inflate a flat tire with my mouth!

I’m so mad I could carve a baseball bat with my teeth.

I’m so angry I could swim from California to New York.
