It Takes Persistence

in Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, Secondary Schools / by Gene Bedley
March 5, 2013

If you can get up the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed. Begin where you are; work where you are. The hour which you are now wasting, dreaming of some far off success, may be crowded with grand possibilities. The first essential of success is that you begin. Once you have started, all that is within and without you will come to your assistance. Do not wait. The time will never be “just right.” Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you have at your command. Better tools will be found as you go along. Eighty percent of success is showing up.

It Takes Persistence To Reach A Goal

Keep trying is the rule that must be followed

to become successful in anything.

Your success in anything is connected with action.

Keep moving towards your goal.

You’ll make mistakes but don’t quit.

You may even have to hang on after others have let go.

Persistence means taking pains

to overcome every obstacle,

to do all that’s necessary to reach your goal.

In the end, the only people who fail are those that do not try.

All great achievement takes time.

Don’t Believe In Miracles, Depend On Them

You don’t need an explanation for everything.

Recognize that there are such things as miracles,

events for which there are no explanations.

Later, knowledge may explain those events quite easily.

The fact that you can plant a seed and it becomes a flower,

share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another’s,

smile at someone and receive a smile in return are common miracles.

Your duty to yourself is to believe

that for which you have sufficient evidence,

and to suspend your judgment when you have not.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Some things have to be believed to be seen.

Vision is the art of seeing invisible things.
