Magic Star Bag Reward Stars

in Primary Schools / by Gene Bedley
February 7, 2013

The star bag is simply a bag made from star fabric material and it is attached around my waist by a tie for easy access. From time to time I reach into the empty bag and take out a magic star. The students “know” what is inside. I previously explained the star that is thrown to them has various characteristics. They decide. They can track the star in the air as it comes to them, either quickly or slowly, it can be soft or hard. It’s all part of the fun of receiving a reward. They love it.

Hi Jacquie,

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your ideas along with hundreds of other primary teachers. You’re awesome!!! Just to share how we can learn from each other I was motivated by your star idea to come up with several names for Responsibility Star Recognition.

Star Worker

Super Star Caregiver

All Star Helper

Guiding Star Leader

Shining Star Finisher

Stellar Star Performer

Bright Star Attitude

Twinkling Star Sharer

Each of the stars could be different colors with different faces for the behaviors you were working to develop.

Thanks again for your generosity and hard work for the children.

Blessings, Gene
