Responsibility Finds a Way

in Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, Secondary Schools / by Gene Bedley
February 1, 2013

A Poem

* RESPONSIBILITY believes the impossibility

while irresponsibility accepts the status quo.

* RESPONSIBILITY is unwaveringly persistent

while irresponsibility is trapped in apathy.

* RESPONSIBILITY is always on time

while irresponsibility is frequently late.

* RESPONSIBILITY gives freedom

while irresponsibility binds and limits.

* RESPONSIBILITY develops commitment

while irresponsibility bathes in convenience.

* RESPONSIBILITY responds

while irresponsibility reacts.

* RESPONSIBILITY produces results

while irresponsibility lacks achievement.

* RESPONSIBILITY develops mental clarity

while irresponsibility is shrouded in confusion.

* RESPONSIBILITY is focused on others

while irresponsibility is saturated with self.

* RESPONSIBILITY finds a way

while irresponsibility offers excuses.

* RESPONSIBILITY follows through

while irresponsibility never arrives.

* RESPONSIBILITY promises people success

while irresponsibility promises failure.

* RESPONSIBILITY says now

while irresponsibility says later.

* RESPONSIBILITY acknowledges all that I do

while irresponsibility points the finger at others.

– Gene Bedley
