Responsible Person of the Day
Include a strip of paper with each of the children s names from your class printed on one of the strips. Place them in a bowl or large jar. At the beginning of the day announce that you will be drawing one strip from the jar and if the student s name you draw follows the ground rules ( No Hurting Others, Pets, Yourself or Property) during the morning or afternoon you will present them with a special surprise. Even though you draw one specific name you can always change the name since you re the only one who knows the name. This is a good way to reinforce difficult students early in the year for being responsible and help them see they will receive more attention for being responsible than being irresponsible.
