Rules for Collaborative Work in Groups and Teams
1. Respect other ideas and be prepared to learn from others. (We are all learners with learners.)
2. Cooperate with your group by supporting each other’s ideas. Don’t argue, we are a team. (Encourage each other.)
3. Show compassion for the person who is sharing their ideas by saying “That’s a good idea.” be a good listener. Make eye contact.
4. Persevere – Spend your entire time focusing on your activity and assignment. Don’t let noises and other people get you off course. Stay on tasks.
5. Positive Mental Attitude – Believe that your group can produce quality work. Give the group your best ideas and energy. Use each minute wisely.
6. Initiative – Volunteer to write, contribute, draw, and/or clarify ideas. “If something needs to be done, you be the one.” Initiative shows you are responsible.
7.Integrity – When you evaluate your work, be honest with yourself. If you feel you could have done better, let your teacher or classmates know. If you gave it your best, be proud of your work.
