When the students begin getting fidgety, we’ll stand up and do some movement to “Greg & Steve” music i.e., “Simon Says” with words, then the “Simon Says” without words for learning body parts, and listening skills. Each student names a body part or action. We may also listen to “Bean Bag Songs,” and follow the directions given in each song. After 3 or 4 songs, the kids are ready to sit and finish circle or listen to a story. Movement is a great ice breaker for new students, new classes, and for developing muscles.
