The System
The system is a place nobody like me wants to be.
Some people like those 3 meals and a decent place to sleep.
It took me nine times to wake up and smell the coffee.
Some staff lock me up for no reason, and
disrespect me when they talk to me.
But I learned how to get past that and still stand tall.
They talk about you bad and can’t wait for
you to slip and fall.
Some staff is cool and will treat you kind.
A lot of people like that are hard to find.
The judge is wrong and the DA.
They smile and can’t wait for a reason to lock us away.
People like that I learn to look over an’ be about mine.
The things we doing these days they just
put us away for a long time.
The system don’t care about us, they treat us like dirt.
We try to act hard but this stuff hurts.
A lot of us might think we tough
But the system here to call your bluff.
They taught me a lesson, what about you?
They got me tired, I throw in the
towel because I’m through.
I hope all of you learn a lesson just like I did.
Stop all this robbing, stealing, and selling dope
and find a new gig.
I know I’m going to stop doing
wrong and start participating.
And the next time they see me, I hope they
accept my application.
