Gary Nolan Show
Gene Bedley was guest on Radio America from Washington DC Gary Nolan’s program.
When asked about teaching ethics to students Gary commented Isin’t that the parents responsibility. While it’s the parent’s responsibility every character in every story kids read is making choices that determine the outcome of each story. We need to have kids see the different choice options and how that serves them or works against them.
As Gene stated in the interview it’s not about teaching kids an ethic course although courses are offered for teachers through the National Character Education Center. It’s having clear reference points for discipline. The 7 Character traits in the Values in Action! program are what a responsible student and person is all about. You can see several of the lessons and activities in Gene Bedley’s new book Character Lessons for Life www.ethicsusa.com
