Kids On Line America to Provide First Secure Online Service for Children
San Francisco, Nov. 10 — Parents can finally rest easy while their
children surf the Internet. Kids On-Line America today announced the
formation of the KOLA Network, a safe, secure and smart online network for
children, their parents and their teachers.
KOLA is the first online network to incorporate member validation, screened
Internet access, and educational content in a user-friendly environment that
is exclusively focused on families and schools.
The KOLA Network is a value-added online service divided into six distinct
user communities — KOLA Junior (ages 5-7), KOLA Kids (ages 8-10), KOLA Teen
(ages 11-12), KOLA Senior (ages 13-17), KOLA Parent (parents of members) and
KOLA Teacher (teachers at partner schools). KOLA’s Educational Advisory
Council aggregates, organizes and distributes online content with the unique
screening, communications, and learning requirements of each community in
mind. KOLA’s content is customized according to age groups, skill sets and
interests within each of the six communities.
“There has been an enormous unmet need for an online community designed with
families in mind,” said Gene Bedley, Chairperson of the KOLA Educational
Advisory Council and National PTA Educator of the Year. “Parents and
teachers have been waiting a long time for a service that they can easily
manage, that’s safe and that provides real value for children. The KOLA
Network provides the first real solution.”
